Good Evening Resident,
We have received concerns regarding anti-social behaviour in and around the beach chalets area in Whitby. These incidents include such as nuisance behaviour, rowdy conduct, criminal damage, excessive noise, alcohol related activity. This can all have a significant impact on local residents, visitors, and businesses. We want everyone to enjoy the area but enjoy it in a manner that isnt going to cause distress to others.
What have we been doing about it? Whitby Neighbourhood Policing team have been actively patrolling the area during hotspot times and engaging with individuals and groups where appropriate. The issue has also been addressed with partner agencies with regards to positive actions in the area that can be taken to reduce the number of occurances of anti-social behaviour.
North Yorkshire Police encourages anyone witnessing anti-social behaviour anywhere in the Whitby ward to report it. If there is an immediate threat to life, a crime in progress, or a risk to public safety, please call 999. For non-emergency incidents, reports can be made by calling 101 or by using the North Yorkshire Police online anti-social behaviour reporting service. Reporting helps us identify patterns of behaviour, direct patrols to problem locations, and work with partner agencies to take appropriate action.
When making a report, please provide as much information as possible, including dates, times, descriptions of persons involved. We appreciate your support in helping us keep Whitby a safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors alike. Continued reporting from the community is vital in enabling North Yorkshire Police and partner agencies to address anti-social behaviour effectively.
Many thanks Whitby Neighbourhood Policing Team
